= The Porting discussion =
A blog post by Nikolaj Hald Nielsen [http://amarok.kde.org/blog/archives/429-Amarok-2-on-windows-A-rant.html about Amarok 2 on windows] sparked replies from [http://aseigo.blogspot.com/2007/06/hoping-and-wishing.html Aaron Seigo], [http://digested.blogspot.com/2007/06/buy-high-sell-low.html Derek] [http://digested.blogspot.com/2007/06/compromises.html Kite] and [http://chehrlic.blogspot.com/2007/06/funny-discussion.html Christian Ehrlicher] as well as a lot of people commenting on these articles. In fact, this topic has had great response in 2004, when Aaron Seigo asked [http://aseigo.blogspot.com/2004/12/how-to-kill-open-source-on-desktop.html "how to kill the open source on the desktop?"] and received roughly 170 comments. This page tries to present an overview of the arguments as well as an outlook on challenges and possible strategies. I will also post all the open questions that came to my mind. Enjoy.
