On OSX 10.5,

perl -e 'print crypt("pass","\$1\$xyz\$")."\n";' -- $1dwWckNooiek

and

perl -e 'print crypt("pass","\$1\$abc\$")."\n";' -- $1dwWckNooiek

They are the same...
