Idea is also to have animated widget which looks like if you press on arrows to se next month the calendar should flip like if you turn a book page.
These options will be animated.
This is just because to make it little bit realistic.

Calendar widget

The idea is as follows:

You will be able to see a full month calendar. When you click on it you will be able to see only the current date.

You will be able to right-click on some date and receive options like:

  • Add a note
 - Birthdays
 - Just regular notes
  • Set notifier/alarm

These options will be animated.

Another idea is to have an animated widget such that if you press on arrows to see the next month, the calendar will flip as if you are turning a book page. This is simply to make it a little more realistic.

I will update this page as I come along with mockups and then you will understand a little bit more.
