.desktop file format has nothing to do with usability IMO. Agateau

The format exists to serve a purpose: opening a program with just one click. This is usability. If the file has a security issue, is this usability? Honestly, I can't tell. If nobody thinks if fits, I cannot make my case. It's a suggestion. Regards. Rafael 10:16, 19 February 2009 (UTC)
