Com Phonon, os desenvolvedores do KDE poderão escrever aplicativos com funcionalidade multimídia em uma fração de tempo necessária com uma das framework/libs mencionadas acima. Isso facilitará o uso de recursos de mídia no desktop e aplicativos KDE.

Applications will not be responsible anymore for the configuration of multimedia hardware. The settings will be available in one central place, and especially with the development of Solid, KDE will see a more consistent desktop in this regard.
