Projects/PIM/Installing the KDE PIM 3.5.5+ feature branch

< Projects | PIM

[edit] What is this branch?

This branch is the 3.5.5+ feature branch for KDE PIM. It contains new features and other improvements against the KDE 3 codebase. The goal is to test and stabilize these new features and eventually merge them into the main 3.5 branch.

The more people test this branch, the more likely it gets that these new features will appear in the main 3.5 branch (ready for KDE 3.5.7 and maybe beyond).

[edit] Changes

A list of changes are to be found in the README.branch file in the main directory of the branch. Please refer to websvn.kde.org for the latest online version.

[edit] How to install

Not that difficult if you are already familiar with building any other KDE 3 module from KDE's Subversion repository:

svn co svn://anonsvn.kde.org/home/kde/branches/work/kdepim-3.5.5+
cd kdepim-3.5.5+
make -f Makefile.cvs
mkdir build
cd build
../configure --prefix=PREFIX --enable-debug=full && make && make install

Of course, PREFIX should be replaced with the prefix where you want to install the testing branch. kdelibs should be already installed in that prefix.
